Shalom House Directions with 2013 Detour Modificiations
Shalom House is located in the historic Forest Park Southeast Neighborhood just south of Hwy 40 on Taylor Avenue. Please note: Sections of Taylor and Newstead Avenues are currently closed due to the I-64 Interchange Reconstruction at Tower Grove. The directions below reflect the detours featured in MoDOT's map found here.
From Hwy 40: Go South on Kingshighway, make a left onto Manchester, make a left onto Taylor Avenue. Continue three blocks. Shalom House is on the east side of the street in an old church building between Arco and Gibson.
From Hwy 44: Take Kingshighway north, make a right onto Manchester, make a left onto Taylor Avenue. Continue three blocks. Shalom House is on the east side of the street in an old church building between Arco and Gibson.
From Forest Park Parkway: Take Forest Park Parkway to Taylor Avenue. Go south on Taylor Avenue. Because of 2013 detour, turn left onto Clayton Avenue. Continue east two blocks and turn right onto Tower Grove Avenue. Continue south over Highway 40 and turn right onto Chouteau Avenue. Drive two blocks west to Taylor Avenue and turn left. Shalom House is located on the east side of Taylor on the corner of Taylor and Gibson.
Parking
Free street parking is available. The nearest streets are S. Taylor Avenue, Gibson Avenue, and Arco Avenue. Please note road signs regarding street cleaning as to avoid parking tickets.
Entrance
The main doors to Shalom House are located up the stairs on the stone (left) side of the building.
